Women Empowerment
A program most close to our heart is the Women Empowerment program. Women play a crucial role in upbringing societies by taking up the responsibilities, creating solidarity movements and overcoming issues faced by marginalised communities. And over the years DAS has largely triumphed in its many programs and activities because of the active participation of women in the DAS locations.
Women across these regions have shown solidarity in elevating their status from marginalised backgrounds by keenly getting involved as trainees, volunteers, and leaders. They show the willingness and zeal in being the change and make a difference to their societies. With support from DAS, they fight oppression, domestic violence, poverty and mobilise people to campaign for their rights, creating further awareness, building hope and seizing opportunities for their upliftment.

DAS strives to develop a feminist perspective on a range of issues related to rural development and reconstruction, with a special focus on Women’s rights and entitlements. However, it is ongoing work, as more women need the support and opportunity to break the chain of oppression, illiteracy, violence against women, child marriage, lack of access to resources and government schemes.
